“Stand with us on the right side of history.” – NAACP President Richard Smith
Wilmington -- Equality Delaware, Inc, the statewide LGBT rights organization, released a video today featuring NAACP Delaware State Conference President Richard “Mouse” Smith. In the video, President Smith says, “The NAACP has always believed in treating everyone fairly under the law. Which is why the NAACP supports civil marriage equality here in Delaware.”
“The NAACP is a legendary and vital civil rights organization,” said Lisa Goodman, President of Equality Delaware. “Having the Delaware NAACP Conference as a strong voice for marriage equality continues to show that the freedom to marry has broad support among Delawareans. We are honored to work with the NAACP and President Smith.”
The NAACP video follows the announcement of support for marriage equality by the Service Employees International Union in Delaware (32BJ SEIU) earlier this week.
