New Poll: 54% of Delawareans Support Marriage Equality

-->

A new poll released today shows that a strong 54% majority of Delawareans want the General Assembly to pass marriage equality! The poll shows that Delaware voters favor the freedom to marry by a 17-point margin, as only 37% oppose extending marriage to same-sex couples.

Our Board President Lisa Goodman celebrated the poll's findings in a statement released today:

“This poll shows that Delawareans, like a majority of Americans, believe in marriage equality. As we have seen from the recent passage of marriage bills through the house in Rhode Island and the senate in Illinois, other
states are moving to marriage. A majority of Delawareans now look forward to Delaware also becoming a state where every loving couple has the unique protections and recognition that only marriage can provide.”
